Minna Zhou’s art practice is an amalgamation of different mediums and styles. Primarily a digital artist, she finds ways to utilize digitalization when working in traditional mediums such as painting, drawing, and printmaking. Minna considers herself a storyteller, she seeks to build worlds that feel emotionally authentic. Her experience as a Chinese American influences her artwork and drives her passion for her work. Minna will graduate in 2023 from Willamette University with degrees in Studio Art and Film with a minor in Chinese. Her hometown is Salem, Oregon but she considers Urumqi, China her secondary home. The themes in Minna’s artwork are inspired by her childhood and she seeks to further investigate her Chinese ethnicity as an adult.
